Proudly serving Canterbury for 40 years

For four decades, Fond Farewells has had the privilege of caring for much-loved family pets and supporting their owners through some of life’s most difficult goodbyes. As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we reflect with pride and gratitude on the relationships that have shaped our journey.

Your trust and support over the years have meant so much to us. It is a privilege to work alongside local veterinary teams who share our commitment to treating every pet with dignity, respect and compassion.

To mark this special milestone, we wanted to give something meaningful back to the community that has supported us. We are delighted to have planted a commemorative Kahikatea tree at The Groynes in Christchurch, creating a special place for animal owners to pause, reflect and remember their much-loved companions.

Kahikatea are known for growing together, with interconnected roots and branches that provide strength and support. For us, the tree is a fitting symbol of the connections we share, the support we offer one another and the lasting bonds between people and their pets.

Pet owners are invited to add their own painted stones near the tree as a personal tribute to a cherished companion. Over time, we hope this special place will become a collection of memories, celebrating the love, joy and companionship that pets bring into our lives.

As we look ahead, our commitment remains unchanged: to provide the trusted, respectful and compassionate care that families and veterinary professionals have relied on for 40 years.

We look forward to continuing this journey together for many years to come.
